About the Teacher
Hello! My name is Tina Wong. I'm a fifth-year pre-service teacher from the University of Lethbridge. I will be graduating in just a couple months with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education. Currently, I'm completing my final practicum here in Stirling, AB in Grade 4 with Mrs. Wehlage.
While I have always had a life-long love for art and took art classes in high school, I have never taken an art class at the university level or even taught art beyond elementary grades before. This will be a new experience for me, so I hope you will be patient as I learn and figure out the best way to go about things.
I have been using Photoshop for about eight years. I am most comfortable with Adobe Photoshop 7.0 since that's the version that I run on my computer. Luckily, for the purpose of this class, Photoshop Elements is close enough that I still know what I'm doing. I was taught the very basic tools when I was in Grade 9, but since then, I have discovered everything else for myself. The style of digital art that I am most comfortable with is called photo-manipulation which involves digitally combining and altering a series of different photos together to create a new one. I learned by using/exploring the tools and searching for various online tutorials. Over the years, I've improved and learned, but I still consider myself to be an amateur. Photoshop is a hobby for me; it is a fun way to help me procrastinate and stay up late when I really should be studying.

About the Class
Photoshop lessons will take place during Art from Mon, Mar 23 to Thur, Apr 17 (approx 4 weeks). For more details about what we're going to be learning and doing, check out the "Class Schedule" tab in the top menu bar.
This class will be a combination of mini-lessons and work-time. Photoshop is so complex that it is hard to really create a lot of notes about it, so I prefer that I show you what I know and then let you engage with the program so that you can understand it for yourself.
